Clustered Girvanella Stromatolites from Area 51
Stock Number  XISTR131

Name:   Girvanella Form Genera
Age:  Lower Cambrian
Formation:  Famous Carrea Formation
Location:  Racheal, Nevada (adjacent to Area 51)
Size:  Stromatolite is 6.1 inches long
Price:  SOLD

This is a very interesting stromatolite slab from the Lower Cambrian of Nevada. Authorities believe that stromatolites were formed by masses of green or blue-green algae, or ''cyanobacteria''. This strange slab has many small, distinct Girvanella ''algal balls'' preserved. The unique pattern of the tiny stromatolites is beautifully showcased, and the unusual colors of the mineral replacement are quite distinct. This is a very fine example of this bizarre stromatolite from an area known more for ALIEN life forms (Area 51)!

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
