Here is a very uncommon echinoid we acquired from an old collection. It is a distinct Mecaster cubicus from the Wadial Mujib of Jordan. This extremely inflated sea urchin has very nice form and exhibits very good plate structure. This type of echinoid has very large ambulacra and very distinct symmetry. This is a large specimen of this rare urchin from the Middle East.
