EXTINCTIONS CHOICE - Split Pair Hoploscaphites
Stock Number  XIAUS904
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Hoploscaphites nicolletii
Age:  Cretaceous
Formation:  Fox Hills Formation
Location:  South Dakota
Size:  Ammonite is 3 inches across
Price:  $295.00

This is a beautiful ammonite fossil. It is a fine specimen of Hoploscaphites mandanensis from the Cretaceous of South Dakota. This type of ammonite has faint ribbing and a somewhat squared keel. There is one rows of prominent nodes on the shoulders and near the keel of the ammonite. These features are very clearly defined on this specimen. But the most striking feature of this ammonite is its natural color. The shiny, iridescent shell of this ammonite is very easily seen. The ammonite is well displayed on the large block of concretionary matrix. And, best of all, this is a split pair specimen - both halves of the fossil are present and offered together. This is a rare part/counterpart iridescent ammonite from the Black Hills.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
