Here is an unusual pair of fossil echinoderms. These are beautiful and rare Spinadiscus lefebvrei edrioasteroids from the Ordovician of Morocco. Edrioasteroids were primitive echinoderms which consisted of a flexible theca composed of numerous polygonal plates. These edrioasteroids have very good natural orange color and excellent contrast. The fossils have excellent detail preserved - the star-shaped ambulacra structure is very easily seen. The edrios are well showcased on the natural plate of sandstone. This is an excellent pair of unusual fossil edrioasteroids from Morocco.
