Name:
Hoploscaphites nicolleti Age: Cretaceous Formation: Fox Hills Formation Location: South Dakota Size: Largest ammonite is 2.2 inches across Price:$149.00
This is a fabulous ammonite fossil. It is a natural block of three ammonites from the Cretaceous of South Dakota. The ammonites are excellent examples of Hoploscaphites nicolleti. This type of ammonite has numerous ribs that are coarse in the beginning and becoming very fine near the living chamber. The keel is flat and narrow with a row of prominent nodes on both sides. The ammonites have the living chambers present, and the reddish-brown iridescent nacre is beautifully displayed. All of the ammonites are very 3-dimensionally preserved and exhibit fine detail. The ammonites are wonderfully preserved in a large, natural block of concretionary matrix. This is a very collectible grouping of ammonites from the Fox Hills Formation.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
