Here is an attractive echinoid from the Miocene of Mexico. This is a large example of a fossil ''sand dollar''. The classic shape of the inflated echinoderm is easily seen. The wide, petaloid ambulacra on the top of the urchin is clearly defined. The sand dollar is free of matrix and can be displayed on both sides. The cream coloration of the fossil is quite striking. This is a very displayable example of a large fossil sand dollar from ''South of the Border''.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
