This is a very attractive ammonite. It is a large Cleoniceras cleon from the Cretaceous of Madagascar. This distinct ammonite has been cut in half and both halves have been highly polished. The coiling pattern of the mollusk is easily seen, and the individual chambers are wonderfully defined. Several of the chambers of the ammonite are hollow and crystal-lined. And each half of the ammonite is quite large - almost five inches across! This is an exciting display specimen of Cleoniceras from Madagascar.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
