Here is a very cool stromatolite specimen. This is a large Copperia tubiformis slab from the Precambrian of Australia. This stromatolite is estimated to be 670 million years old! Authorities believe that stromatolites were formed by masses of green or blue-green algae, or ''cyanobacteria''. This slab displays well, having great color and contrast preserved. The unique color patern is totally natural and makes for a great conversation piece. This is a large, distinct specimen of this striking stromatolite form from ''Down Under''.
