Here is a nice vertebrate fossil. This is distinct Oreodont jaw from the Brule Formation of South Dakota. The jaw bone is very solid, and there are still many large teeth firmly embedded in the jaw. The teeth exhibit very nice structure. The cusps of the teeth are well defined, and the enamel is well preserved. This jaw is totally free of matrix, and both sides are intact and display well. The fossil comes in a 3.3" X 4.3" glass-topped display case. This is a fine display specimen of a mammal jaw from the Oligocene.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
