Here is a spectacular plate of ammonites from the Jurassic of Russia. There are many ammonites on the block of concretionary matrix. Cosmoceras proniae has a thin ribbing pattern and a very sharp keel. Paracadoceras sp. has a much wider shell. It also possesses thicker ribs and a very rounded keel. The 3-dimensional ammonites retain the highly iridescent, mother-of-pearl shell and "flash" a wide array of many gorgeous colors. They are beautifully positioned on the block of concretionary matrix that is covered with sparkling pyrite crystals. This is a stunning display plate of ammonites from Russia.
