Here is a very interesting fossil insect. This HUGE specimen is from the Upper Jurassic of China. The fine detail of the insect is quite evident. The head, segmented body, and legs of the insect are easily seen. Even the spikes at the end of the body are clearly defined. The large insect is well centered on the somewhat rectangular block of shale. This is a large, unusual fossil insect from the time of the dinosaurs.
