This is a wonderful multiple plate of primitive echinoderms from the Middle Cambrian. These are Gogia sp. from the Spence Shale of Utah. These unusual echinoderms used to be classified as eocrinoids but are now thought to be cystoids. There are three excellent examples on this slab. Two of the cystoids are beautifully displayed in the ''starburst'' position. The other cystoid is a side view with the stem or holdfast clearly defined. All of the echinoderms exhibit great detail - the long, extremely thin arms are easily seen. The fossils have great color and contrast and are well positioned on the large plate of shale. This is a very displayable plate of these primitive echinoderms.
