Here is a very attractive ammonite. This is a huge Cleoniceras cleon from the Cretaceous of Madagascar. This ammonite has been cut in half and both halves have been highly polished. The individual chambers of the cephalopod are beautifully displayed - many of the chambers are hollow and lined with golden calcite crystals. The larger chambers have a very unusual greenish coloration. Even the back side of the ammonite has been polished to reveal the nacreous shell. This is an extremely large specimen that displays the individual chambers of an ammonite in wonderful fashion. Two stands are included at no additional charge.
