This is a spectacular plate of ammonites from the Jurassic of Russia. A great example of Quenstedtoceras sp. is in the middle of the plate. This type of ammonite has coarse ribs and a very rounded keel. Five Cosmoceras proniae ammonites are positioned below the Quenstedtoceras. Cosmoceras have somewhat finer ribbing and a sharp keel. All of the ammonite specimens have the nacreous shell intact and exhibit many beautiful colors (much more striking than what the picture shows). The ammonites are wonderfully presented on the block of concretionary matrix that is lined with sparkling pyrite crystals. This is a very ''showy'' multiple plate of Russian ammonites.
