This is a nice jaw bone of Percrocuta sp., a hyena, from the Miocene of China. There are still three large teeth firmly embedded in the jaw. The teeth are wonderfully intact and display quite nicely from both sides. The teeth have excellent enamel and beautiful coloration. The teeth exhibit hardly any wear - the cusps of the robust teeth are clearly defined. This is a fine dentary specimen from a Miocene hyena.
