This is a very ''showy'' vertebrate fossil. It is a Keichousaurus hui from the Triassic of China. This dinosaur-like reptile is articulated and exhibits fine detail. The head, long neck, body, and tail are all beautifully displayed. Many sharply-pointed teeth are visible in the skull, and the limbs of the beast are clearly defined. The black bones are well preserved and quite 3-dimensional. The dark-colored fossil contrasts well with the tannish-gray matrix. The reptile is almost perfectly centered on the rectangular plate of shale. This is a fine example of this Triassic reptile from China.
