Here is an unusual fossil tooth. This is a canine tooth from a Squalodont whale. This specimen is from the Oligocene deposits of South Carolina. This tooth is very robust and exhibits fine detail. The dark-brown, shiny, corrugated enamel is beautifully displayed and a long section of the root is intact. The tip of the tooth exhibits some natural wear. This is a very fine specimen of this uncommon tooth from an Oligocene whale.
