Here is an interesting plate of fossils from the Mississippian of Missouri. There are two examples of Evactinopora, a star-shaped bryozoan, along with an undescribed species of Schizoblastus, a melon-shaped blastoid, on the slab. The fossils are quite 3-dimensional and exhibit fine detail. The narrow ambulacra of the blastoid are clearly defined and the points on the bryozoans are easily seen. The fossils have good color and contrast and are nicely positioned on the plate of limestone that also contains a few crinoid fragments. This is a fine example of these strange bryozoans in association with a blastoid from the Reeds Spring Formation.
