This is a large tooth of Mosasaurus sp. from the Cretaceous of Morocco. The tooth is extremely 3-dimensional and wonderfully preserved. The shiny, dark brown tooth displays the corrugated enamel in beautiful fashion. The tip of the tooth is almost perfect and a portion of the root of the tooth is present. The tooth has very good color and contrast and is well presented (not composited or placed) on the natural block of matrix. This is a great tooth from this giant marine lizard.
