Here is a wonderful paracrinoid. This is Oklahomacystis tribrachiatus from the Ordovician of Oklahoma. It is very unusual to find one of these paracrinoids in matrix - they are almost always found ''loose''. This primitive echinoderm is 3-dimensionally preserved. It has been meticulously prepared under a microscope to reveal the superb detail - the highly ornamented plates are beautifully displayed. The paracrinoid has very good color and contrast and is well centered on the natural plate that is loaded with many types of bryozoans. This is a very displayable example of this strange echinoderm.
