Here is an interesting association of two different gastropods from the Miocene of France. On the left is an example of Turritella sp., a high-spired gastropod. A beautiful, unidentified gastropod is on the right side of the block. Both gastropods are quite 3-dimensional and exhibit wonderful detail. The fine ornamentation of the fossil snails is clearly defined. The fossils have great color and contrast and are well positioned on the block of sandstone matrix. This is a very displayable specimen of Miocene gastropods from France.
