This is a very attractive fossil arthropod. It is an Eryonid from the Cretaceous of Lebanon. Due to political unrest, specimens from this location are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. This crustacean exhibits very fine detail. The segmented body (which is semi-enrolled) and legs are beautifully displayed. Even the eyes and the antennae are quite visible. The ''spider-like'' appearance of the crustacean is very striking. The fossil has been darkened for contrast (typical of this site) and is wonderfully positioned on the rounded plate of sublithographic limestone. This is a very displayable example of this unusual arthropod from the Mesozoic.
