This is an unidentifed insect (possibly a beetle) from the DeRosear Collection. This specimen is from the famous locality of Florissant, Colorado. The specimen was collected in 1941. Doug obtained the specimen from a university collection in 1974, and it has been in his collection ever since. The insect exhibits fine detail. The appendages (legs) of the insect are apparent. It displays very nice color pattern. It is well centered on a natural slab of volcanic ash turned to shale. This is a chance to acquire a rare fossil insect from a world-famous site that has been closed to collecting for many years.
