This is an extremely aesthetic specimen of Aequipecten sp. from the Pliocene of Florida. There are two complete valves of this large bivalve present on the block of matrix. The ancient shell exhibits wonderful detail. The coarse radial corrugations are clearly defined and the fine growth lines are easily seen. The fossils are beautifully displayed on the large block of sandstone that also contains several other types of bivalves on the reverse side. This is a very displayable specimen of Pliocene mollusks from Florida.
