This is a beautiful fossil shrimp from the Jurassic of Germany. It is Aeger tipularis from the famous Solnhofen Lithographic Limestone. This shrimp is large and has excellent detail. The long rostrum, the head, the segmented carapace, the legs, and even the tail are wonderfully displayed. The fossil has great dark color and strong contrast and is nicely centered on the natural-edged plate of dendritic limestone. This is a very displayable example of this classic fossil arthropod from a world-famous locality.
