This is an outstanding fossil crustacean. It is an excellent Eryma modestiformis from the Solnhofen Limestone of Germany. This wonderful specimen was recently obtained from an old German collection. The crustacean was collected from the original Malm zeta Lithographic Limestone quarry in Solnhofen (not Eichstatt!), which hasn't been working for decades. This specimen exhibits extraordinary detail. Both ''claws'' are intact and beautifully displayed. The sementation of the antennae is very distinct, and the pustulose nature of the exoskeleton is clearly defined. There is NO ENHANCEMENT, whatsoever, to this remarkable fossil. The Eryma is almost perfectly centered on the plate of lithographic limestone. This is the most detailed example of this arthropod that we have ever seen.
