Here is a gorgeous ammonite from the Cretaceous of Madagascar. This ammonite has been cut in half and both halves have been highly polished. The inner chambers of this blond-colored ammonite are very well defined. Some of the individual chambers are hollow and filled with tiny crystals. The detail of the suture lines is easily seen. And the ammonite is almost six inches across! The large size, beautiful coloration, and fine detail make for a stunning display. This is a very striking ammonite for the fossil collector or an interesting objet d'art for the decorator.
