This is a very nice ammonite from the Jurassic of France. This type of ammonite has 3 rows of large nodes (one row on the keel and a row on each shoulder) that is very distinctive. The large ammonite is very 3-dimensional and exhibits fine detail. The ribbing pattern of the cephalopod is wonderfully preserved and the tiny inner whorls are quite evident. The ammonite is beautifully displayed on a large block of matrix that also contains a smaller ammonite of a different type. This is a very fine ammonite specimen from the Jurassic of France
