Here is a rare mammoth fossil. It is a set of two associated teeth of Mammuthus primigenius from the Pleistocene of Russia. This specimen was found in the same area that was featured in the Discovery Channel special, "Raising the Mammoth". These teeth are extremely unusual in that they came from the same animal! The teeth were well preserved, but the center of the jawbone is missing. The teeth are very 3-dimensional and exhibit great detail. The grinding surfaces of the colorful teeth are wonderfully preserved and beautifully displayed. Both teeth have the long roots present and are still encased in the jawbone - totally intact and complete. This is a very collectable and displayable set of Mammoth teeth recovered from the same animal.
