Here is a nice multiple plate of Lituites littuus from the Ordovician of China. This strange-looking cephalopod grows in a coiled pattern at the beginning and then straightens out. There are four specimens on the rectangular slab of matrix. The cephalopods have been polished to bring out their beauty. They are preserved in a 3-dimensional manner. The individual chambers of the shells are easily seen. The fossils have nice color and great contrast. This is a very interesting specimen of these unique Paleozoic cephalopods.
