Here is a very displayable plate of fossils from the Rochester Shale of New York. On the left side of the slab is a fine example of Dalmanites limulurus. This trilobite has been ventrally prepared and is wonderfully articulated. The sweeping genal spines are easily seen and the triangular caudal spine is clearly defined. A wonderful specimen of Protaster stellifer is on the right side of the plate. This rare brittlestar is unusually well preserved and exhibits fine detail. The large central disk is quite evident and all five, thin arms are intact. It is very unusual to find a brittlestar with all of the arms present. These fossils have great color and contrast and are nicely positioned on the large rectangular plate. This is a fantastic plate with two different organisms from the Silurian sea.
