Here is an excellent example of a fossil cricket. This specimen is from the Cretaceous of Brazil. The insect is very well defined. The head, body, and legs of the cricket are easily seen. The long, thin antennae are beautifully displayed. The dark brown fossil contrasts nicely with the light-colored limestone. The insect is almost perfectly centered on a large (2.0" X 3.0"), rectangular plate of matrix. This is a great specimen of a fossil cricket from the Cretaceous.
