Mosasaurs were giant marine lizards. Here is a fine specimen of a tooth from one of those animals. This fossil is Mosasaurus anceps from the Cretaceous of Morocco. The large tooth is very robust. It displays the corrugated enamel very nicely. The very tip of the tooth shows a small amount of wear. A small portion of the root of the tooth is exhibited. The fossil has good color and contrast. It is well centered on the natural piece of matrix. This is a nice specimen of a tooth from a huge marine reptile.
