This is a very fine specimen of Perisphinctes sp. from the Jurassic of Madagascar. The ammonite is very inflated and free of matrix. This ammonite has a very rounded keel. The coarse ribbing of the cephalopod is easily seen. The inner whorls are nicely displayed. The ammonite has excellent whitish color. This is a wonderful specimen of this "classic" ammonite.
