This is a nice Ordovician starfish. It is a Stenaster from Ontario, Canada. This type of starfish is commonly called a "button star". This specimen has good detail and has all five arms intact. The starfish is nicely centered on the squared matrix plate. This is a good example of a "button star" that came from an old collection.
