Here is a superb tooth of Mammuthus primigenius from the Pleistocene of Russia. This tooth is from an extremely rare, juvenile mammoth! This specimen was found in the same area that was featured in the Discovery Channel special, "Raising the Mammoth". The tooth is totally 3-dimensional and exhibits great detail. The grinding surface of the colorful tooth is wonderfully preserved and beautifully displayed. This "solid" tooth has the long roots still intact. This is a magnificent example of a very scarce, juvenile mammoth tooth.
