Here is a nice ammonite specimen from an interesting location. This is Eubranoceras sp. from the Cretaceous of Peru. The inflated cephalopod exhibits very strong ribbing and a nodose pattern on the keel. The inner whorls of the ammonite are nicely displayed. Both sides of the ammonite are very clean. There is actually a small ammonite of unknown type also present on the back side of the plate. This is a very well preserved ammonite from this unusual location.
