This is a very pretty ammonite from the Jurassic of France. The fossil has been sliced and both halves have been polished. The ammonite is replaced by iron pyrite. The individual chambers of the ammonite are filled with calcite. This is a beautiful ammonite that is suitable for display. It could also be utilized in making a unique piece of jewelry.
