This is a very nice plate of brachiopods. These are Mucrospirifer sp. from the famous Silica Shale of Ohio. There are two specimens of this ''long-winged'' brachiopod on the slab. Both of the 3-dimensional brachiopods exhibit great detail. The radial ornamentation is clearly defined, and even the fine growth lines are quite evident. The fossils have very good color and contrast and are nicely presented on the plate of shale. This is an extremely attractive plate of these classic Devonian brachiopods from Ohio.
