This is a very interesting specimen of a fossil bivalve. It is a large Aequipecten sp. valve from the Pliocene of Florida. The ''ears'' of the clam are wonderfully intact, and a fossil barnacle is still tightly attached to the shell, making for an excellent association of two different organisms. This ancient shell exhibits wonderful detail. The coarse radial corrugations are clearly defined, and the fine growth lines are easily seen. This is a very displayable specimen from the Pliocene.
