Here is a great fossil brittlestar. It is an Ophinurina lymani from Bundenbach, Germany. Fossils from this site are famous because they were found in slate that eventually became roofing shingles. This specimen is complete, with all five arms intact. The detail is excellent - the arms and central disc are beautifully preserved. The star is nicely centered on the squared roofing shingle. This is a very detailed fossil brittlestar from this classic "Lagerstatten" locality.
