This is a unique association plate of two different types of cephalopods from the Jurassic of Germany. A large Perisphinctes ammonite is wonderfully displayed on the plate. This ammonite exhibits the ribbing pattern in fine fashion, and the inner coils of the cephalopod are easily seen. There are also two belemnites beautifully preserved on the slab. These long, slender cephalopods are very 3-dimensional and even the tiny, pointed tips of the belemnites are intact. The fossils have good color and contrast and are well presented on the huge plate of matrix that also contains other partial ammonites on both sides of the slab. And best of all, the cephalopods are totally natural to the plate - they have not been composited. This is a very displayable plate of two different types of cephalopods from Germany.
