This is a very nice specimen of Micraster schroderi from the Cretaceous of Germany. This heart-shaped sea urchin has been removed from the matrix so that it can be viewed from all angles. It is extremely robust and exhibits fine detail. The entire test is covered with small pustules, and the ambulacra are easily seen. This is an excellent example of this uncommon echinoid from Germany.
