This is a very collectible vertebrate fossil. It is a Bison (buffalo) skull cap from the Pleistocene deposits of Oklahoma. This specimen is from a female bison - the horns are not quite as large as a male. This skull cap has both horns wonderfully displayed, and the spread between the horns is over 18 inches. The entire top of the skull is present, and the condile (the process that attached to the first vertebra) is also fully intact. This is a very displayable fossil from this large Ice Age mammal.
