This is an excellent fossil brachiopod. It is an Orthospirifer sp. from the Devonian of Indiana. This brachiopod has been removed from the matrix so that it can be viewed from all angles. Both sides of the brachiopod are extremely '' clean'' and display beautifully. The brachiopod is extremely robust and has both valves intact and tightly articulated. The ''wings'' of the brachiopod are easily seen, and the radial ornamentation of the fossil is clearly defined. The brach also has what appear to be tiny worm borings in the outer shell! This is a wonderful specimen of this Devonian brachiopod from Indiana.
