This is a very pretty slab of stromatolite from the Precambrian of Wisconsin. Authorities believe that stromatolites were formed by masses of green or blue-green algae. This striking slab has been highly polished on one side for optimal display. The unique greenish coloration of this stromatolite is wonderfully showcased. This is a very attractive specimen of an extremely old stromatolite.
