This is a rare occurence in the fossil record. It is an Orbiculoidea doria brachiopod growing on the outer surface of a Schizophoria sp. brachiopod. This kind of relationship between fossil organisms is not unheard of, but ones this distinct are very uncommon. Both brachs have great detail, and the color difference between the two is quite striking. This is a wonderful brachiopod fossil that tells a unique story.
