Here is a very displayable ammonite from the ''wilds'' of Patagonia. This is Sonninia mirabilis from Argentina. This type of ammonite has a somewhat faint ribbing pattern with a sharp ridge on the keel. The large ammonite has excellent detail and is very inflated and 3-D. The inner whorls of the ammonite are beautifully displayed. The cephalopod has very nice color and contrast. It is wonderfully preserved in the natural block of concretionary matrix. This is a very large and detailed example of Sonninia from Argentina.
