This is a beautiful plate of brachiopods. It is a slab of five Paraspirifer bownockeri from Sylvania, Ohio. In 1991, we were fortunate enough to collect in the Sylvania Quarries for the famous Phacops trilobites found there. While digging for the trilobites, we also found a smattering of Paraspirifer brachiopods. This plate has five complete specimens represented. All five are very 3-dimentional and are replaced with golden pyrite. The brachs retain much of their original detail. This is a killer display plate of large, pyritized brachiopods.
