This is a nice specimen of Lituites littuus from the Ordovician of China. The fossil is centered on a rectangular block of matrix. The specimen has nice white color and very good contrast. The individual chambers of the shell are quite distinct. The plate has been semi-polished to make it more attractive. This is a very aesthetic specimen of this strange semi-coiled nautiloid.
